1958 Chrysler New Yorker
Each month the RACV Club in Melbourne displays a heritage vehicle in the Club foyer.
This month it’s a beautiful 1958 Chrysler New Yorker 2-door hardtop. Featuring a 392 cubic inch V8 engine producing 345 bhp, this model had a claimed top speed of 123 mph (and drum brakes).
At Chrysler, 1958 was notable for their introduction of a cruise control option called “Auto-Pilot” on their cars. It’s surprising how long some automotive innovations have been around.
